A New Chapter in Baldoyle

A local pub, reimagined.

Fitzpatrick's Baldoyle is what The White House Bar & Restaurant became after a new owner, passionate about Irish pubs, took it over and gave it a fresh chapter — right here on Main Street, Baldoyle.

What Changed, What Stayed

The White House Bar & Restaurant stood in the centre of Baldoyle Village for years before it became Fitzpatrick's. The building, the bar, the seafront setting stayed the same — what changed was a renewed dining room, a refreshed bar and lounge, and a kitchen and drinks list brought up to today's standard.

The people didn't change. Anna, our manager, and Pawel, our Head Chef, have both been part of this place for 11 years, through the transformation and after it — the same team that knows the regulars, the seafront and what a proper night in Baldoyle should feel like.

Baile Dubhghaill — A Place That Has Always Gathered

Baldoyle — Baile Dubhghaill, “the town of the dark stranger” — has had an inn or public house since the early 17th century. An old hunting song, held in the British Museum, tells of Michael St. Lawrence of Howth Castle and his friends calling into the tavern at Baldoyle after a day's hunt:

“The drink was good and so was the bread,
They took to their liquor till they were all red,
And when they had done, they sang the hare's knell,
And if I had more, faith the more I would tell.”

Baldoyle was also home to a horse racing course from 1852 to 1972, with the Baldoyle Derby and the Baldoyle Steeplechase among its best-known races. Fitzpatrick's sits within that same history of gathering — just a short stroll from the shore.

A Seafront Setting

Fitzpatrick's is close to both the sea and the countryside, which means fresh local seafood and produce on the menu, and a proper sea breeze on the short walk from the shore. The kitchen is open Wednesday to Sunday from midday — see our Food page for hours and the full menu.
